I have a lot I want to do as our next State Senator, and I hope you'll click over to my goals' page to learn more about how I plan on hitting the ground running representing you.
But serving as your next State Senator will mean weighing in on potentially hundreds of bills. I can't predict what they will all say, but I can commit to you - my neighbors - that I will approach each and every bill guided by my values.
I believe our job is to protect, educate, and uplift our children. I believe the strength of our society is judged by having the fewest possible children go hungry. I believe all of our neighbors, no matter their class, race, gender, or sexual orientation deserve a fair shot at the New Hampshire dream. And I believe we are at our best when we treat everybody with dignity, care, and compassion.
I believe no family should go bankrupt paying for their child's medical care. I believe our veterans didn't put their lives on the line for us, only to then be forgotten when they come home. I believe heroin is an epidemic that has torn families apart, and that we could do so much more by emphasizing treatment.
And I believe every woman should have control over what happens to her body.
20 years in the military meant learning my way around a gun or two. It also taught me that even the most responsible gunowner can make a mistake. That's why - while I believe in New Hampshire's right to own guns - I do not believe they have any place in our local schools.
Finally, I believe our state is full of conservatives and liberals, Democrats and Republicans, who simply want to live their lives in happiness. Raising families, supporting friends, building businesses, growing old. I know that can come with disagreements, but I promise to work with our neighbors of all political stripes and backgrounds, because at the end of the day I know we all want the best.
I can't predict what every day will bring, I can commit to you that I will serve with these values as my compass, so that all of us can have a stronger community and stronger New Hampshire to call our home.
